If you need help finding these options, read this article.Ĭreating a canvas in Sketchbook Pro for desktop You will have two options, one contains a list of predefined canvas sizes and the other is for entering your own dimensions. When creating a new canvas, go into the canvas options to do this. Below the canvas dimensions will be the maximum number of supported layers, based on the canvas size and device performance.Īre you looking for a way to change the size of your canvas? Do you have a project that requires a high-resolution image? If so, selecting a larger canvas will help. In some versions, above the canvas orientation icon, you’ll see the size of your canvas in Mpx (Megapixels). Use it to set the orientation to either portrait or landscape. When creating a canvas, there should be an option for rotating your canvas. If you want some basic information on canvases, resolution and size, check out What is a canvas . But, what if the canvas created is not the size you want? There are an assortment of tools for customizing your canvas. To help you better align the pages, try applying a hatch material to the face, like the Cement Masonry Unit Texture, and then disable Use high accuracy HLR, which will disable vector output, enabling textures to be printed. When you open Sketchbook for the first time, a canvas is already created for you. From there you can click print, and you should be good to go! When you click OK, you’ll see a preview of your printout. So if you’re using SketchUp maximized in full screen, you have to undock it and drag the borders of the window to fit it. So what you need to do is resize that actual SketchUp program window, in order to change the aspect ratio of the workspace to fit the object as tight as possible. If you tried to print that, it would look like this: So if you have a bunch of empty space around the model, SketchUp will allocate page space for that area, and that’s where you get all those blank pages printing out. When you print from SketchUp, it actually prints the entire work area, not just the model. Ok, so this is where most people trip up. (I don’t know why you can’t just align your view to any face in the model, you HAVE TO use a standard view for some reason.)
